Free Gas Attracts Customers
There is a new advertisement/promo that attracts customers to free business — Free Gas. With gas price now averaging at $4 per gallon, several businesses have used gas cards to make consumers do business with them. An example is Callaway Golf Co. who offer free $100 gift cards to customers who buy certain clubs and TCF Bank that gives away $50 gas cards for those who would open a checking account.
Every merchant nationwide knows there is one word in every consumer’s mind — gas. So, when a merchant starts waving out placards offering free gas cards, everyone turns to look. The marketing trend is expected to expand as more retailers or merchants will surely jump on the bandwagon.
Other companies that have jumped on the bandwagon is Kalahari Waterpark Resort with a free $40 gas card and Chrysler LLC who offered to subsidize buyers’ gas expense for 3 years. Chrysler buyers will pay only $2.99 per gallon for 3 years while the company shoulders the rest.
