Earn Extra Cash as a Mystery Shopper

The current economic crisis has led several people to get additional jobs or at least earn on the side. A job I just recently read about are those that do mystery shopping. Apparently, retail businesses pay people to pose as potential customers to get feedback on their store’s customer support or relationship.

These mystery shoppers pose as customers and find creative ways to determine how store personnel treat customers. Aside from customer support, the mystery shopper takes pictures of the store’s surroundings and provide the owners a view of what customers see when they do their shopping at the store. I believe this strategy works better in getting accurate feedback for a store’s top management. It is better than those surveys they ask customers to fill up. It is a burden on customers and most do not accommodate such an encroachment on their time. If some do oblige, it is done hurriedly without really thinking about their answers.

It is not a lucrative job but it pays decent income to those who have the time to make the store visit. I am uncertain how much it pays. But from what I heard, some make about $100 a week. That’s not bad considering that unemployment is continuing to rise in the US.

For those interested in a job like this, just google mystery shopper and you will find the information you need to get into this type of work.  A word of caution though.  Don’t join any program that requires you to pay anything.  A legit mystery shopper or secret shopper job will not ask you to pay for anything.
