Sergey Smirov Celebrates the Greatest Russians

I’m not what you would call an art connoisseur and I hardly know anything about brush strokes or any other intricacies of a painting. Nevertheless, I do know when I see an artwork that I want. I mostly depend on the mix of colors and the way a portrait draws me to it.

What I do love is checking out works of art online. At ParagonFineArt.com, I discovered the work of Sergey Smirov and his depiction of the greatest men and women that have been a part of Russian history. I love the colors and the exaggerated long faces of his subjects. But what really draws me to the portraits is the seeming sadness on their faces. I know that very few have the Monalisa’s smile. Yet, there is something different about Smirov’s Russians. Go check them at at the site. They are absolutely gorgeous.
