Reaching Out and Rising Up In The Rooms

Nothing is considered more difficult than admitting a mistake, accepting you have a problem, and doing the best within yourself to solve the problem. This is the path that many alcoholics, drug users, or gamblers have had to travel to solve their problem. Though many refuse to take the path, there are more who find the courage to make the change for the better.

It is good to know that there are groups out there willing to extend a hand and help these people rise up and start a new life.  These are groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Gamblers Anonymous.  And with the intention to reach out to more troubled people in need, InTheRooms.com was established to build an online community of people in recovery, incuding family and friends of those in recovery.  It is an accepted fact that those who share the same experiences have more capacity to communicate and help one another.

However, the online community cannot accomplish its goals by accepting members through the internet alone.  The recovery program involves having those with addictions to physically attend the group meetings to listen and meet others who are in the same problem and those who have successfully recovered from their addictions.  As such, InTheRooms Meetings Database was established where members can access the schedule of actual meetings in their area.  It is a Wiki meetings list which now holds current database for Narcotics Anonymous and Gamblers Anonymous.  They are currently working to complete the database for Alcoholics Anonymous by June 30, 2009.

The database will cover meetings held worldwide to reach out to more people around the world.  Are you someone who may have an addiction?  Or do you care for someone who has an addiction problem?  Join InTheRooms right now and take the first step to a new life.
