It’s official — Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony end their marriage after seven years. The couple released a statement Friday announcing that they have decided to end their marriage and have come to amicable conclusions on all matters. This is J Lo’s 3rd marriage and the 2nd for Marc Anthony. The couple have three-year-old twins Max and Emme.
The announcement came as a surprise as J. Lo and Marc just renewed their vows in June last year to celebrate their 6th anniversary. It was the second time they had renewed their vows, first of which was in 2008. Even their sizzling performance during the finale of American Idol this year showed no signs of rift.
During their marriage, the couple starred in the film El Cantante in 2006, produced Q’Viva (Latin American talent competition), worked on each other’s records, and toured together. Despite the collaboration and the consistent display of marital bliss, it seems that all had not been well between the two pop icons. During the announcement, they did maintain that it was a difficult decision and requested that their privacy be respected as it is also a painful time for both parties.
