For fans of the series, it is a movie worth waiting for.  While those who have no patience for women’s atrocious habits, better stay out of the theaters. As for me, I want to see the movie if only to see Kim Cattral at 50 looking just as gorgeous as she used to.

I just got this off the newsflash…

NBA Superstar Kobe Bryant, scored 39 points in today’s game versus bitter opponent San Antonio Spurs, to seal their best-of-seven series in 5 games. With this LA win, I think the controversial “no-foul” call (or simply non-call) made in Game 4 has now become moot and academic and I don’t think the protest (if there is any) would make any difference because by the looks of it, Kobe and his boys have convincingly proven that they are the best Western Conference team, at least for this year.

For now, the Lakers can relax while they wait for the winning team in the semi-final Eastern Conference match between the Boston Celtics and the Detroit Pistons.

Personally, I’d be backing any team going against Kobe Bryant. I know he has the ability and he will probably make (or even beat) all NBA scoring records, but an airbag like Bryant will never ever achieve the greatness of Michael “Air” Jordan. Be that as it may, the Lakers will surely be the heavy favorite in the finals series because aside from Bryant’s fire power and exciting fancy court moves, coach Phil Jackson’s return to the NBA Finals is something that basketball afficionados have been looking forward to in a while.

Just when Luc Bourdon’s life started to get exciting, it was time to go.  The promising rookie defenseman of the Vancouver Canucks died Thursday when his motorcycle hit a tractor-trailer near his hometown. At 21, Bourdon already had a string of victories under his belt.  He played on the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the 2007 world junior hockey championship in Vancouver and made the tournament’s all-star team. He also helped Canada win another gold at the 2007 tournament in Sweden.

Luc was the first-round draft pick of the Canucks in 2005, selected 10th overall. This season, he split time with the Canucks and the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

He was described as a persevering person which made him realize his dream of becoming a talented hockey player at such a young age.  Well, just like in hockey, in life you never know where the puck intends to go.

With my Mom still recuperating in the hospital, I have been on my computer hours each day to help me bide the time and make me stop worrying too much. Defending champion San Antonio Spurs trails the ongoing NBA Western Finals 3-1 after the Lakers won the game 93-91 Tuesday.  It was a controversial win for the Lakers when Brent Barry missed 3-point shot with 2 seconds left on the clock.  After the receiving the inbound, Derek Fisher went for a foul making Barry miss badly.  However, the foul was never called which ended the game in favor of the Lakers.

The NBA admitted that  foul should have been called subsequent to reviewing the instant replay.  It would have tied up the series for the Spurs had the shot gone in or it would have given them a chance to even the count on the foul line.  Here’s a video of the final play.  What do you think?

Manga has taken the world by storm with Japanese animation gaining more and more followers every day. Most fans are gamers, yet others are actually admirers of the Japanese art. I have even seen books that teach the art of Manga and it has been patronized, not only in their native country, but also internationally.

It is interesting how Manga names denote a certain personality or characteristic that usually refers closely to the person holding the name. If I could choose a Manga name, I want Chie. It means wisdom and blessings. I also wanted something that means beauty or bravery. But it was too common and I wanted to be more than just a pretty face.

I have lost nearly 10 pounds in just a little less than 2 weeks.  My Mom is recuperating in a hospital and the stress while she was still in critical condition made me forget that I love to eat.  This had never happened to me before.  I think there was even a day when she was still in critical condition that I forgot to even drink water for half of the day.  All I knew was I had to take care of her — I forgot about myself.

After 2 weeks, even though I am lighter on the scale, I am weaker.  At night, I am always tired yet I have trouble sleeping properly.  At the moment, I am trying my best to eat even when I have no appetite.  If I continue this way, my skin will dry up and I’m afraid I will look years older.  Last week, my face was already dry and I looked tired.  Now, after remembering to take care of myself, my skin looks better and has regained moisture.  I still haven’t returned to my previous appetite but I’m trying to regain my health back.  I don’t want to be the next in line to the hospital bed.

John Tyler Hammons, a 19-year old self-confessed gamer, triumphs over 70-year old Hershel McBride in the mayoral elections at Muskogee, Oklahoma last week. The American teen is no different from other teens — he loves rock, joyrides, video games, and hanging out.  However, unlike the rest, the population of 38,000 in Muskogee have placed the leadership of their town in the hands of the young man.  He claims that the public’s trust in him is the most awesome experience he has ever had.

Hammons  garnered 70% of the town’s vote, winning over former mayor McBride.  Folks at Muskogee believe he is the right person for the post because he is fresh, young, and he owes nothing to anyone.  Hammons will continue with his college education despite the new responsibility.  Everything will be organized and scheduled to allow him to meet all his obligations.  He will be sworn in this week, replacing Wren Stratton who decided not to run for re-election after only one term.

He assures the town that he will keep his promise during his campaign to clean up the town’s politics and establish an independent ethics commission and lock down campaign finance reporting.   If only the old politicians in our country had half of Hammon’s dignity and sense . . . good luck John.  Stay true.
