Rumor has it that following long negotiations and arrangements, Tom Cruise may no longer play the role in the spy thriller, “Salt.” Apparently, Edwin A. Salt is scheduled to get a sex change with new mommy Angelina Jolie currently negotiating to replace Cruise.

Along with the sex change comes a redraft of the screenplay and a possible change in title. The story now revolves around a CIA officer who needs to prove that she is not a Russian sleeper spy that has been hired to assassinate the president.

Screenwriter Kurt Wimmer will redraft the screenplay, about a CIA officer who must prove she is not a Russian sleeper spy out to assassinate the president, to suit Jolie. Phillip Noyce remains attached to “Salt” as director. Jolie is also doing “Atlas Shrugged,” an adaptation of the Ayn Rand novel but has not divulged yet which one will go first.

Looks like an imminent disaster for Tom Cruise. While Cruise’s “Lions for Lambs” bombed at the box office last year, Jolie’s “Wanted” has earned about $250 million at the worldwide box office. Let’s wait and see then. I hope this latest drawback in Cruise’s career doesn’t affect his current marriage.

According to Brad and Angelina, their growing family is a bit chaotic at the moment with the new babies, but they are having the time of their life.The family currently enjoys life at the Château Miraval in Provence, France. The couple’s 4 older children – Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 – have been enjoying a summer of outdoor play on sprawling grounds of château which is ideal for a game of hide-and-seek.

Yes you read the title right. Exclusive pictures of the Brangelina fraternal twins is estimated to be worth $20 million. It beats older sister Shiloh’s $4.1 million value which was donated to Namibian hospitals and UNICEF. And it’s definitely way over the $6 million that the J. Lo twins got from People magazine.

Are they really worth it? Those in the publication industry believe they are. Shiloh’s cover pics for People magazine sold a whopping 2.2 million copies or 45% of average. More than the sales, it’s the invaluable prestige and publicity that the publisher gains. In this type of industry, branding and marketing is everything. As such, they do not hesitate to pay more than the annual salary of their entire staff for an exclusive first peek at an A-List celebrity baby. But it is noble that most celebrities do opt to donate proceeds to charity.

In Knox and Vivienne’s case, their picture is not worth a thousand words. Their pics are worth millions. Can’t wait to see them.

It’s official — Angelina and Brad just had their boy-girl twins. The baby boy will be named Knox Leon while the girl will be known as Vivienne Marcheline. Angelina gave birth Saturday night and is doing well according to Dr. Michel Sussman.

Knox weighed just over 5 pounds while Vivienne was at 5 pounds. Angelina gave birth through Caesarian section around 8 pm Saturday night while Brad was there during the operation at the seaside Lenval hospital in Nice, Southern France. Papparazzi were vigilantly watching hospitals in the French Riviera and missed Angelina’s earlier arrival at the hospital via helicopter.

Since the first photos of the babies are expected to fetch millions, Angelina and Brad had sold the first photos to a yet unnamed US publication with proceeds to be donated to charity. To prevent any unauthorized pictures, the hospital coated the windows of the room with a special material which will not make any type of camera to take any photos. Any picture in magazines and the internet which claims to show the couple in their room were either fake or manipulated.

It was reported that Angelina Jolie has checked in a hospital in Nice, France for a rest. Doctors claim that the rest has already been pre-agreed and that the twins and Angelina are fine and doing well.

Looks like she might be set to give birth soon despite other rumors coming out that she is due in August. Angelina’s last pregnancy resulted in a caesarian section with the birth of Shiloh, her biological daughter from Brad Pitt. Considering that she is having twins, maybe the couple is apprehensive about the birth and decided to have Angelina checked in early to avoid any complications.

Speculators say that she is having 2 girls. Then again, there are those who say it’s a boy and a girl. Apparently, this pregnancy has been the object of so much speculation in the last weeks as the world awaits the next chapter in the Brangelina saga.

Forbes’ annual Power List, which ranks celebrities on money and fame, named Oprah Winfrey, for the second year in a row, as the most powerful with $275 million (from her media empire). A far second to the list is golf phenomenon Tiger Woods ($115 million), followed by Angelina Jolie ($14 million) in third place. Though Jolie has the lowest net worth among the top ten personalities in the list, Forbes probably gave more weight to her popularity and clout, both due to her profession and charity works. Based on the Power List, Jolie is actually “more powerful” than her beau, actor Brad Pitt, who landed on the tenth spot with $20 million. Pitt’s ex Jennifer Aniston came in only at No. 17.

Meanwhile, another power couple landed on the top ten — the newly-weds Beyonce Knowles (#4) and Jay-Z (#7), with $80M and $82M, respectively. The rest of the top listers (measuring earnings and publicity power) are as follows:

Entertainment Tonight posted Friday morning that Angelina Jolie gave birth to twin girls and that babies and mother were healthy.  However, Pitt’s manager denied reports and other news organizations confirmed that ET’s hot news were untrue.  Though ET removed the report from its website, it insists that they are not retracting the report until they receive confirmation.

During its broadcast on Friday night, ET claimed that “a source who says she was inside the delivery room tells us yes, the babies were born and yes, mother and babies are doing fine.” The newsmagazine also quoted another Web site in giving the babies’ alleged names.The report was magnified when The Associated Press reported that “Entertainment Tonight” had said the twins had arrived.  The AP also felt that ET had a solid reputation in the world of celebrity news.The incident may have damaged the AP’s relationship with  ET as denials from other sources continued throughout the day.

Angelina did say that the babies are due in August.  OK! Magazine grew more comfortable over the weekend that the “Entertainment Tonight” story was wrong because of other clues. There were no reports of flowers being delivered to hospitals, or grandparents flying in, she said, and Pitt was seen attending a sporting event over the weekend.

Seems like it’s the season for twins for celebrities lately.  Apparently, it’s the new Hollywood trend with Jennifer Lopez, Nancy Grace, and Marcia Cross recently became mothers to twins.  And the buzz is that expectant moms Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie will soon be the new mothers on the list.

Wow! It’s official — Brangelina are having twins.   According to the sexy actress,  the sonogram revealed that they will have daughters and are unlikely to be identical.  The couple are currently staying in France for the Cannes Film Festival where Jolie’s movies Kung Fu Panda and Clint Eastwood’s The Changeling are in the competition.  Jolie co-voices an animated character in Dreamwork’s Panda together with Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black.  They are currently staying in the private mansion of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and will likely stay there until she gives birth.

During an interview, when she was told that taking care of twins was a hefty task, she  looked excited, exclaiming that they haven’t even hired a baby nurse yet.  Brad joined in and chided that they will have it the other way around and have 2 adults instead with six kids.  The couple hasn’t picked any names yet.  But judging from the names of other kids — Maddox, Zahar, Pax, and Shiloh — it will be something to look forward to.  Even with the actress’ tummy almost about to pop, she remains gorgeous and captivating.

Other than their film assignments, the couple had been busy with various Third World causes.  They have been responsible for over $8 million in donations, which included an orphanage in Cambodia.  It appears that these various endeavors have made the couple stronger with both finding fulfillment in their life through the causes that has already benefited so many children in poor countries.  Despite most people’s skepticism towards their partnership and their donations, I am rooting for them.  Regardless of whatever drives them towards their objective, the help they have extended to so many people is undeniable and cannot be ignored.

With the upcoming release of Beowulf, movie enthusiasts can’t wait to see this  computer animated epic.  Unlike other computer animated films, Beowulf utilized animation over existing film footage to create a stunning computer animated film that resulted in characters looking so much like their actor counterparts.  The film stars Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich, Angelina Jolie, and Ray Winstone as Beowulf.  The screenplay is a collaboration between Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary adapted from the Anglo-Saxon epic poem of the same title.  The movie is directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Angelina Jolie’s voice and image represents Grendel’s evil seductive mother, the Queen of Darkness.  With Jolie’s reputation for being daring and undaunted, it is surprising that  the actress admits to feeling shy after seeing her computer image naked except for gold paint covering her entire body and a lizard tail.  Although she had a lot of fun with the movie, she was amazed to see the final footages and felt exposed.  Despite the initial inhibition, she loves the end result and absolutely adores her tail.

I’m dying to see the movie.  The film will be released in the US on November 16.  I hope every second of Beowulf is just as exciting as the trailer.
