Angelina Jolie stars in the upcoming Changeling, a period thriller directed by Clint Eastwood. The story revolves around the true story of a woman in the late 1920s whose son was kidnapped. Los Angeles police publicize and return a boy which she claims is not her son. Along with Jolie, John Malkovich portrays the role of a reverend activist who helps Jolie in uncovering the corruption of police and city government officials in Los Angeles.

Jolie’s portrayal of Christine Collins, a mother in agony, received raves from critics. The role will show how a woman has the ability to bounce back from the worst adversity to fight the most difficult odds for her child. Jolie was initially reluctant to play the role as it made her uncomfortable because she had children herself. It is something I look forward to watching. There is nothing that I understand more than a mother desperately trying to protect her son from this world’s cruel realities.

Changeling premiered in May 2008 at the 61st Cannes Film Festival where it received good reviews. It is scheduled for general release on October 31, 2008.

It’s official — Brangelina are having twins.   According to the sexy actress,  the sonogram revealed that they will have daughters and are unlikely to be identical.  The couple are currently staying in France for the Cannes Film Festival where Jolie’s movies Kung Fu Panda and Clint Eastwood’s The Changeling are in the competition.  Jolie co-voices an animated character in Dreamwork’s Panda together with Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black.  They are currently staying in the private mansion of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and will likely stay there until she gives birth.

During an interview, when she was told that taking care of twins was a hefty task, she  looked excited, exclaiming that they haven’t even hired a baby nurse yet.  Brad joined in and chided that they will have it the other way around and have 2 adults instead with six kids.  The couple hasn’t picked any names yet.  But judging from the names of other kids — Maddox, Zahar, Pax, and Shiloh — it will be something to look forward to.  Even with the actress’ tummy almost about to pop, she remains gorgeous and captivating.

Other than their film assignments, the couple had been busy with various Third World causes.  They have been responsible for over $8 million in donations, which included an orphanage in Cambodia.  It appears that these various endeavors have made the couple stronger with both finding fulfillment in their life through the causes that has already benefited so many children in poor countries.  Despite most people’s skepticism towards their partnership and their donations, I am rooting for them.  Regardless of whatever drives them towards their objective, the help they have extended to so many people is undeniable and cannot be ignored.
