Music Videos and Rap Lyrics

My kids are now in a stage where they decide the music they listen to and the videos they watch. I try to keep an eye on what they watch and listen to now and then. Don’t get me wrong, I do trust them. I’d like them to be open to what is available in the internet and decide for themselves which is appropriate and which is not. I just hope they get a good judgment on determining which is which.

They now listen to rap and hip hop music. Some of these can be controversial. But like I mentioned above, I don’t want to limit them to goody-two-shoe types of music only. Keeping them away from rap lyrics that are controversial would make them more curious. Besides, controversy and eccentricity is part of life. They also enjoy hip hop videos and I see them checking out the new ones available for viewing in websites like www.rapartists.com.

I will continue to give them their freedom in order to nurture their creativity. However, parental advice is still part of the package.

Discover The Best About Rap Artist Jay Z

Sometimes when I listen to music my kids have on their mp3, I feel older than I should be. Those rap songs are cool — they do make your feet and head move involuntarily. The difficult part is understanding what they are saying. Some say that rap artists are considered the new poets who express their opinions on society and culture through music. If they are saying something important, I need to know what they are saying.

I scoured the web to find Jay Z lyrics and found a great site for rap artists. Rapartists.com has details on almost all notable rap artists in the industry. I checked out the Jay Z Profile and found the lyrics of most of his songs easily. Other than lyrics, his profile showed discography and his biography. Learning about his biography is important to understand what his lyrics are trying to say. Knowing that he hailed from Brooklyn made me understand why his songs talked so much about the ghetto, the streets, and the kind of life he must have had in his childhood.

If you want to know more about other rap artists, Rapartists.com is your best resource.
